I warmly welcome you to the School of Social Science (SSS) and wish you an amiable experience as you navigate our informative and exciting website. The School is the largest under the College of Humanities and consists of six departments: Economics, Geography & Resource Development, Political Science, Psychology, Social Work and Sociology. The departments offer diverse programmes from which you can select majors, combined majors, and minors to fulfill your graduation requirements. It is located behind the N-Block at the University of Ghana.

Students Life

The School of Social Sciences is the largest in the College of Humanities and the University terms of student population. A total of about 23,885 Students made up of 23,113 Undergraduate Students and 772 Graduate Students.

Admission Requirement

An applicant for admission to a degree programme, must have at least credits, Core: passes in English, Core Mathematics, Integrated Science & Social Studies Electives: Credit passes in any three elective subjects with the total aggregate not exceeding 24.

The Students Financial Aid was established in August 2005, the operation of the SFAO is to ensure that financial need is not a barrier to equal access to quality education for bright but needy students.
